The Current Middle Ages...
Welcome to the official website of the Shire of Drygestan; the Santa Fe chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA).
The SCA is a world-wide non-profit organization of roughly 60,000 participants, dedicated to the preservation of the Arts and Sciences of the Middle Ages (mainly pre 17th- century Europe).
We accomplish this through the study and re-creation of skills and traditions of those times. We value chivalry and portray an idealized view of the middle ages.
Our group meets once a week for various activities, such as heavy weapons fighting, archery, and arts & science classes. In addition, we have a monthly general business meeting. At this Shire Meeting we make plans for future classes, camping events, and fighting tournaments. These meetings are all open to the public and we invite you to come check out what we are doing.
